The longer interval from blood collection to determination result to the different physiological state of the patients, like prostatitis syndrome, obstruction and etc.,all these will affect thePSA levels and lead to the wrong judgments. Therefore, this index can only be as a reference.
Prostate-specific antigen is a supplemental clinical diagnosis,it cann’t be the only reference for the diagnosis of the prostate cancer. The cancer diagnosis can only be made by the comprehensive analysis. In necessary,prostate biopsy can be made to confirm the diagnosis.
